ASME Sec VIII; ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
Section VIII of ASME is the code that covers the design, manufacturing, inspection and testing of pressure vessels that exceed 15 psig. This code book provides specific requirements on welding and forging, mandatory and nonmandatory appendices detailing supplementary design criteria. Manufacturing companies must be certified by AMSE. Any Company providing Radiography services will need a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). The RSO will oversee all codes and regulations regarding the storage and use of category 2 material. Eddy Current uses electromagnetic induction with alternating currents passed through a coil. The coil produces alternating magnetic field. They are yearly contributing to advancing the science, technology, and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes worldwide, including brazing, soldering and thermal spraying. Many well-known certifications come from AWS. The CWI or Certified Welding Inspector is one of them.
