Turnaround or Outage Support
Every year in the Energy and Refinery industry have their planned and or unplanned outages. Typically planned for the spring or fall. The plant will shut down typically for a week to 4 weeks for maintenance. These outages require a number of skilled workers to accomplish the planned work. Typically working around the clock to accomplish this work. These tasks can include replacing equipment, valves, pumps, and piping. They may also overhaul the equipment or overlay the piping or shells to help with corrosion. Integrity Testlabs has the staff to support the needs of the mechanical contractors or the owner operators. We can provide RT, UT, MT, PT and QC/QA support.
ASME Sec VIII; ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
Section VIII of ASME is the code that covers the design, manufacturing, inspection and testing of pressure vessels that exceed 15 psig. This code book provides specific requirements on welding and forging, mandatory and nonmandatory appendices detailing supplementary design criteria. Manufacturing companies must be certified by AMSE. ITL technicians have completed hundreds ACFM inspections on equipment shells in oil refineries in the Northeast. ACFM is a electromagnetic technique used for detecting cracks breaking the surface. Capable of also sizing the defect. ACFM can be used on ferrous and nonferrous metals. ACFM can be fast and effective inspection. It does need the area to be cleaned and electric available to run the ACFM unit. Wet Fluorescent Magnetic Testing (WFMT) can be used as an alternate inspection to confirm the findings of the ACFM.

API 580 was developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) in 2002. It is primarily adopted in oil and chemical refineries for developing programs to track and maintain inspections in keys areas of the piping or equipment that is affected by the process it contains. API 580 is program will keep workers and communities safe from releases or catastrophic failures. Integrity Testlabs has provided support for API 580 by providing Radiographic inspections and Ultrasonic Thickness inspections on piping, shells of exchangers, towers and drums. Radiography provides an actual imagine of the corrosion that is occurring and UT grids can provide a visual by numbers on where wall loss is happening.

Founded in 1919 the American Welding Society (AWS) is a nonprofit organization that is made up of members and panels of members. They are yearly contributing to advancing the science, technology, and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes worldwide, including brazing, soldering and thermal spraying. Many well-known certifications come from AWS. The CWI or Certified Welding Inspector is one of them. Integrity Testlabs has in house and contract CWI qualified workers to meet the need of any project.
