Basic understanding of the impacts that pipelines have on of water, land and air. General Pipeline Construction; Observing all phases of construction and understanding the difference between compliance and requirements in term on general pipeline construction.

A nonprofit organization which is governed by a board of directors. ASNT publishes and maintains SNT-TC-1A, Standards, Codes of practice, ANSI/ASNT CP-189 and CP-105. They also cover all aspects of qualification and certification of NDT personnel. Becoming certified or learning about Nondestructive testing can be achieved in two ways. Enrolling in a school that provides a certificate or degree or getting hired on with a company with no knowledge of the industry and learning on the job. Typically 40hrs of radiation safety is the first step/certificate that is needed to get started. Once the Assistant has had some time in the industry the company will provide them with classroom training either in house, computer based or sending them to a course provided by a known 3rd party. When the Assistants meets the required OJT hours and classroom time. They will test with the company they are with by completing a specific, general and practical exams. When this is completed, they are now a Level II technician.
